Painter
Sorrell Construction Management is looking for help! We are a small family owned General Contractor/ construction company operating in the greater Burlington area and all of Chittenden county. We specialize in residential home renovation, additions, and restorations. We also do a fair share of new residential construction and some light commercial work.
We are looking to fill a full-Time position for a lead painter. We are searching for an applicant with 5 to 10 years of painting experience to join our team full time; Applicants should be self-motivated, detailed oriented professionals with an appreciation for providing an extremely high-quality finished product. Applicants will be responsible for managing 1-2 other painters and producing a consistent high-quality product while setting and meeting realistic deadlines and goals. All applicants must have a valid driver’s license and their own means of transportation.
We offer PTO, paid holidays, and a tool purchasing plan. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm with OT opportunities frequently. Lead Carpenter
We are currently looking to add a lead carpenter with values that match our mission.
Applicants for the lead carpenters’ position will be expected to manage the flow and implication of changing details on a project and have a high aptitude for problem solving in the field. You will also be expected to maintain a consistent, healthy, and positive channel of communication with the crew, subcontractors, project managers, and owners.
Your main job will be managing the day-to-day operations of a single jobsite and a crew of 2-4 employees with the goal of meeting deadlines and ensuring the proper application of all specified materials. You will oversee subcontractors and ensure they are following the project’s scope of work.
Your other roles will include material management and keeping record of a daily log for all jobsite activities. This is a hands-on management position of 50% management and 50% having a tool bag on working alongside the crew.

Carpenters
We are always looking to add skill to our roster. We are currently looking to add 1-3 experienced carpenters to our crews that share our desire to produce a high quality product and maintain a realistic deadline and budget.
Applicants for the carpenter’s position should have experience with structural framing, all forms of siding (including masonry plank, wood, and vinyl), and experience with high quality finish work as you will be expected to participate in all phases of a project.
Desirable candidates are able to work independently and as part of a team, with limited supervision at times. We are looking for candidates who are detail-oriented, systematic, hardworking individuals. Applicants will be required to work ALL aspects of construction from framing to finish work and everything in between.

Laborers / Carpenters Apprentices
At Sorrell Construction we take great appreciation for the education of the next generation of carpenters. Working in an industry with a shrinking population of new talent that’s eager to develop their skills and the trade as a whole has inspired us to do our part to encourage and support any interested person to pursue a career in the trade.
Candidates for this position should have a basic knowledge of construction, experience using hand and power tools, and an eagerness to develop their skills in construction. You will be expected to help an experienced carpenter with daily tasks while learning new skills and techniques. You will also be expected to maintain site cleanliness and assist in general labor projects around the site.
- 1-2 years of experience
